I started writing professionally in 1990 and have been writing across a broad spectrum of subjects; food, travel, lifestyle, architecture and anything else that caught my interest, but food and travel have always been my great loves, both personally and as writing topics.
I've authored a non-fiction book, worked as a journalist in both news and features and was Food Editor at The Courier Mail newspaper in Brisbane.
Between 2012 and 2016, I was editor of Fairfax' Brisbane Times Good Food Guide; newly established stablemate to The Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide and The Melbourne Age Good Food Guide.

I've recently discovered podcasting (the doing, not the listening) and enjoy interviewing and producing my travel and food podcast ExtraVirgin.
In my spare time, when I'm not half-heartedly attending the gym, I love travelling to slightly off-beat locations, freestyle cooking and occasionally leading tours to introduce food lovers to artisan producers and farmers.

My death-row meal would be... linguine with white truffles and a bottle of Barolo (yes, the whole bottle). My mum's plum pudding and custard for desert.
My worst habit is... procrastibaking
